The Midnight Wake

The Midnight Wake

The Lord called Samuel a third time, and Samuel got up and went to Eli and said. “Here I am; you called me.” Then Eli realized that the Lord was calling the boy. So Eli told Samuel, “Go and lie down, and if he calls you say, “Speak Lord for your servant is listening.” So Samuel went and lay down in his place. The Lord came and stood there, calling as the other times. “Samuel, Samuel!” Then Samuel said, “Speak for your servant is listening.
1 Samuel 3:8-10

Have you ever woken up during the stillness of the night for no reason?

Maybe God wants to have a late night worship session with you?

Perhaps, He wants your attention and the stillness of the night is just the right time.

He may lay a person on your heart that needs prayer, give you guidance concerning your days ahead or the Holy Spirit may convict you of a sin that needs confessing. Regardless of the reason, God wants a relationship with you and He wants to spend time with you. So, the next time you wake up in the night, don’t fight it, just answer….”Speak Lord for your servant is listening.”

Dear Loving Father,
Thank You so much that You desire a relationship with us. You love us enough to wake us up so we can talk. Help us to see those restless nights as a door opening for fellowship. Use those moments at night to draw us close to Your side, strengthen us and guide us. Help us to see that the nights You wake us up, You can also soothe us back to peaceful sleep.
