Wait Patiently

Wait Patiently

“I remain confident of this:
    I will see the goodness of the Lord
    in the land of the living.
 Wait for the Lord;
    be strong and take heart
    and wait for the Lord.”

Psalm 27:13-14

Waiting is hard. We live in an instant gratification world where groceries can be delivered to our doors and solutions to medical questions are literally at our finger tips.

The writer of this Psalm, David, was pursued by enemies, shut out of the house of the Lord, separated from his parents, and much more—and yet he waited. He waited on God for answers. Not only did he wait for the Lord, he was confident in his waiting, and still saw good.

It is my hope that when we find ourselves in times of waiting, that we do not lose hope, but press further into the Lord and His will for our lives. God might be calling us to great things in our waiting. I encourage all of us to spend time with the Lord during our that time, and seek His goodness in our daily lives. His Word is true, living, and breathing, and it tells us to be strong and take heart as we wait for Him.

Father God, I pray that as we find ourselves in places of waiting that we still feel Your presence in our lives. I pray that Your goodness is made known throughout our lives even in the unknown; even in the waiting. Amen.
