His Word is Truth

“All your words are true;
    all your righteous laws are eternal.”

Psalm 119:160

We live in a society today that is full of opinions. People jump at the chance to give advice and affirm choices whether they may be right or wrong.

Blogs, social media, and friends can be great methods for advice and even comfort. However, as believers, I pray that our first source of teaching and encouragement always comes from the Word of God.

Even though the Bible was written in a different day and age—it is the living and breathing Word of God therefore, it is relevant to our lives today and every day. 2 Timothy 3:16 says, “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.”

The God of the universe who knew us before we were born, and created us for His great purpose gifted you and me a road map to all of life’s joys and troubles—His Word. The Lord who loves us more than we can ever imagine, so desires for us to reach for His Word rather than our phones the next time we find ourselves in a sticky situation. I pray that we do that today—dig into His Word. Read it. Memorize it. Speak it.

Father, I pray that we can rest in your Word and know that all that it is Truth. I pray that when we need direction in life, it is our bibles that we reach for to guide our steps. Amen.
