A True Princess

A True Princess

Your beauty should not come from the outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.
1 Peter 3:3-4

When my girls were younger I used to love reading them stories. Some of our favorites were the princess stories, such as Cinderella, Snow White, and Sleeping Beauty. Even though each of these make-believe stories ended happily, the challenges the princesses faced getting there were difficult.

Each of these lovely ladies endured hardship, heartache, and loneliness. In spite of evil schemes and cruel actions toward them, they continued to show a great deal of kindness and love to those around them.

If Christ lives in you then His Spirit provides the ability to live your life like these princesses. Regardless of their difficult lives and terrible losses, these make-believe princesses still found goodness and joy in their heart. By having the Holy Spirit living in us, we possess these same capabilities.

Dear King of Kings and Lord of Lords,
Thank You that by Your Holy Spirit we can live a life that is just as beautiful as these ladies. We can show the world what true beauty looks like, not by how we look on the outside but how our heart looks on the inside. Help us to see our self worth comes from You. We who live in Christ can have the assurance of a “happily ever after” ending to our lives.
