A New Thing

A New Thing

“Look, I am about to do something new; even now it is coming. Do you not see it?”

Isaiah 43:19

Are you ready for something new? Do you need a fresh start, a new direction, a renewed spirit? Do you feel like you have a slow leak in the abundant life to which you were called?

Circumstances recently hurled me into a new season which was inevitable, but dreaded and unwelcome. I could not see Him because my eyes were not looking for Him! I had my head down, my eyes lowered, and no expectation in my spirit. But, hallelujah, He is the one who lifts our heads (Psalm 3:3). He invites us to see what He is doing; to get on board with His plans and to participate in His abundance!

Perhaps the Lord is whispering to you: “Look, I am about to do something new; even now it is coming. Do you not see it?” (Isaiah43:19). How can you position yourself to see something new? In the preceding verse, God says, “Do not remember the past events, pay no attention to things of old”. He is calling us to see beyond the former troubles, sins, and failures. We must determine to not allow them to slow us down on the journey to the abundance ahead in His plans. Hebrews 12:1 encourages us to “lay aside every hindrance and the sin that so easily ensnares us” so that we can “run with endurance the race that lies before us.”

Will you ask the Lord to show you the new He has ahead for you? Will you lift your head and open your eyes to see it? Will you wait in humble expectation of His goodness? Will you lay aside the things in the past that prevent you from fully embracing His goodness?

“Do you not see it? Indeed, I will make a way in the wilderness, rivers in the desert. The people I formed for myself will declare my praise” (Isaiah 43:19,21).
