What Should You Do?

What Should You Do?

“Whatever He says to you, do it.

John 2:5 NKJV

I have been known to be just a tad on the hard-headed side. Strong-willed and stubborn puts it mildly. The Bible calls it “stiff-necked” (I do not prefer that term J). There is nothing wrong with taking control and getting things done, right? I mean aren’t those good leadership qualities? (And all the strong-willed gals said YES!) However, it is only good when those qualities are being controlled by the Holy Spirit.

I am currently in a difficult family situation that I am unable to control. It grieves me considerably, but there is not one thing I can do to change it. My only hope is a miracle. Seriously, Divine intervention is the only solution. So, I studied miracles in the Bible to see what I could apply to my life and this situation. And I found something important and interesting.

In John Chapter 2 we find the first miracle the Lord performed. They were faced with a situation they had no control over, and they needed help. Jesus’ mother instructed the servants with these words, “Whatever He says to you, do it”. Stop. Read it again. Let that sink in.

What did Jesus tell them to do? He said simply, fill some clay jars with water. Then He turned the water into wine. I believe this miracle was contingent on their obedience.

So, what should you do? Whatever He tells you to!  Have you obeyed the instruction of the Lord? Have you done the last thing He asked you to do? Simple and immediate obedience; no negotiations, no hesitations, no excuses and no more putting Him off. Set yourself up for a move of God in your life and situation and do whatever He tells you to do.

And for the hard-headed gals, do not discuss His instructions with yourself. Do not overthink it. Do not try to control the outcome or change His methods of operation, even when they make no sense to you.

Ask The Lord today what He wants you to do.
