I have learned the secret...

Philippians 4:12 NLT

I like secrets! To me, they are fun little surprises… like gifts! Helpful hints, secrets or tips that encourage you or make life better.

If someone has a secret to living life well, I want to know it!

That is what Paul is telling us in this passage…

I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little.  For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength (Philippians 4:12-13 NLT).

Paul has learned the secret to contentment.

There is a huge need to understand how to find true contentment in our culture today. The enemy wastes people’s time drawing them away from God in the hope of finding contentment, they pursue more. But that is the wrong direction.

More stuff won’t satisfy.

Things of this world never bring true contentment. They just leave you wanting more.

Do you want to know what Paul’s secret is? Jesus!

Jesus provides a supernatural strength from the Holy Spirit that is the only way to true contentment. Paul has learned how to live contently, whether with little or plenty. This is a supernatural contentment that the Lord provides to His people.

You and I can have this same true contentment from the Lord that Paul has.

Be encouraged! Read Philippians 4 and discover several secrets to life… like the secret of freedom from anxiety and worry, the secret to peaceful and joyful thoughts, and the secret to contentment.

As the passage says… pray about everything, tell God what you need and thank Him for all He has done!

God’s strength is the secret and His Holy Spirit brings true contentment.

Trust in Jesus who is always present to help in every situation!

Father, in the quiet of my heart You speak to me… whispering “Trust me, child, I love you! My Word gives you the secrets to life.” Lord, You are the One who knows the only way to true contentment and the right way to live life. Help me listen to Your leading. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
