Feeling Defeated?

Feeling Defeated?

…Purify…

Joshua 7:13 NLT

Some days it seems everything goes… wrong.

Does this ever happen to you?

No matter what I try, nothing works out right.

Recently on a day like that, Jesus brought this Scripture to my attention:

Get up! Command the people to purify themselves in preparation for tomorrow. For this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: Hidden among you, O Israel, are things set apart for the Lord. You will never defeat your enemies until you remove these things from among you (Joshua 7:13 NLT).

Jesus was showing me… Something was hidden and causing problems for me.

I prayed and asked Jesus to reveal the problem.

Jesus revealed unforgiveness was hidden in my heart.

Unforgiveness is sin… hidden sin… and it needed to be removed.

This is why I kept feeling defeated.

Sin was creating spiritual problems while allowing the enemy to defeat me.

Can you relate?

So, I prayed, repented, asked for forgiveness and for Jesus’ help to forgive.

I asked Jesus to purify my heart.

Jesus answered.

My heart changed.

Jesus brought healing to my heart and my relationship with Him was restored.

Forgiveness is beautiful because I realized Jesus was fighting for me again… and I began to see victory.

Things started to go right!

This is the constant victory we have in Jesus.

Father, in the quiet of my heart, You speak to me… reminding me that I can harbor sin in my heart, hidden away. Help me see it, repent and purify. Thank You for forgiving me. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
