The Path Revealed

The Path Revealed

Our God is a solid rock

Psalm 18:31 NLT

We were hiking through a mountain forest in Colorado and we came to a flowing stream. At first, we did not see a way across without getting our shoes completely wet. We thought we would have to turn back. I quickly prayed… asking Jesus for help. We looked at the rocks again,  and now could see a path of rocks that stood above the water. The rock path seemed to suddenly appear and we used those rocks to cross to the other side.

It reminded me of God’s way in Scripture…

God’s way is perfect. All the Lord’s promises prove true. He is a shield for all who look to him for protection. For who is God except the Lord? Who but our God is a solid rock? God arms me with strength, and he makes my way perfect. He makes me as surefooted as a deer, enabling me to stand on mountain heights. He trains my hands for battle; he strengthens my arm to draw a bronze bow. You have given me your shield of victory. Your right hand supports me; your help has made me great. You have made a wide path for my feet to keep them from slipping (Psalm 18:30-36 NLT).

God gives many examples in Scripture of things in nature, so that we can relate to what God is saying. When I see no way to continue on, I turn to Jesus in prayer, He suddenly reveals a way through it.

Just like that mountain stream, difficulty may appear to block my path. But after prayer, just like the rock path appeared in the stream suddenly… Jesus reveals a way through the difficult situation.

The way was there all along! I just couldn’t see the way without Jesus.

Each time that happens, my trust in Him is strengthened.

Jesus is training me to repeatedly turn to Him. He is waiting for me to live life with Him.

Father, in the quiet of my heart, You speak to me… reminding me when I come to a difficult time and there seems no way through it to turn to You in prayer and to ask for a clear way through it. You provide! And I am so thankful! Help me to always remember to seek You. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
