The Time of Waiting

The Time of Waiting

I wait for you.

Psalm 25:5 CSB

A test revealed I could have… cancer.

Then… there was a time of waiting.

This time of waiting… of not knowing… is the hardest part.

Was my life about to change? Or not?

Have you had a time of waiting like this?

In this time of waiting… what did I do? What would you do?

I did what the psalmist did here…

Lord, I appeal to you. My God, I trust in you. Do not let me be disgraced; do not let my enemies gloat over me. No one who waits for you will be disgraced; those who act treacherously without cause will be disgraced. Make your ways known to me, Lord; teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; I wait for you all day long (Psalm 25:1-5 CSB).

Just like in the Psalm, it seemed the enemy… gloated over me.

God did allow me to go through this refining fire … a journey of cancer and recovery.

But with Jesus… I was not disgraced.

God’s grace carried me through… the fire.

Jesus made His way known to me… in the truth of His Word.

Revealing to me why this path was for me.

Jesus used this time to turn my focus to Him… in a new way.

It was a time Jesus used to keep my spiritual eyes… awake.

Trust Jesus… in the time of waiting… or in the news you didn’t want to hear.

His plan is always the best plan.

Father, in the quiet of my heart, You speak to me… in every moment, even moments of possible life change. In these times of waiting, help me always turn to You… crying out for Your help. Trusting Your plan to keep me close to You. Thank You for leading me. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
