Move Forward

Move Forward

…reaching forward to what lies ahead

Philippians 3:13 NASB20

We were hiking in the middle of a mountain forest and our path suddenly… ended.

What do you do?

Do you go backward?

I prayed… Jesus, lead us the right way.

We moved forward in the direction we knew we should go and… found a new path.

It was the right way.

This reminded me of Paul’s encouragement…

Brothers and sisters, I do not regard myself as having taken hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:13 NASB20).

This can happen on the path of life, too.

The path you were on suddenly… ends.

There is a choice.

Go backward… or… turn and look ahead… to a new path.

Pray… Ask Jesus to lead you in the right direction.

Let the peace of God guide you (Philippians 4:7 paraphrase).

Don’t allow the “what ifs” to make you go backward… the wrong direction.

Trust Jesus.

Focus on all the good that He has brought into your life. Move forward.

Share those experiences with others.

Give Jesus the honor and credit.

Father, in the quiet of my heart, You speak to me… when a path I am on suddenly ends, I am to seek You, to move forward. You may lead me to a new path. Help me trust you and follow obediently in that direction. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
