God Notices You: In Your Uncertainty

God Notices You: In Your Uncertainty

When this is done, I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I
perish, I perish.

Esther 4:16

“The doctor found a suspicious spot; he would like for you to come in and have another
scan,” the voice said over the phone. I stood there stunned for a second. Did I hear that
right? Could it really be something? Thoughts kept swirling over and over in my mind. I
had to ask the Lord for peace as I faced this uncertain situation.

Esther was also someone who faced uncertainty, and God noticed her too. When she
found out that a king had agreed to an edict that would annihilate all the Jews, which
unknowingly, included herself and her cousin Mordacci, (the king’s gate keeper); she
was not sure what to do.

She knew she needed to plead on behalf of the Jews but to approach the king without
being summoned could mean her death. In Esther 4:11 she tells us “all the king’s
officials and the people of the royal provinces know that for any man or woman who
approaches the king in the inner court without being summoned the king has but one
law; that they be put to death unless the king extends the gold scepter to them and
spares their lives.”

In the midst of the uncertain outcome, Esther bravely accepts the task by stating, “If I
perish, I perish” (Esther 4:16).

The Lord allowed the king to find favor in Esther and was even pleased to see her as he
held out his scepter toward her to listen to her request. The Lord can give us the same
peace and assurance that He is with us when we are faced with challenges.

God, it is so comforting to know that when we are unsure of the future, we can
trust that You notice us and You already know the outcome.
