“Who Knows?”

“Who Knows?”

“We do not know what to do, but we are looking to you for help.”

2 Chronicles 20:12 NLT

I was 23 when tragedy struck our family. My mom lost a courageous battle with cancer. I found myself despondent and somewhat lost. I learned a valuable life lesson from God’s Word that can be summed up in 2 words: Who Knows? We find it in Esther 4:14 where Esther puts everything on the line to fulfill her lifework. It is mentioned again in 2 Samuel 12 and in Joel 2.

It has been my experience that the Lord brings us to “Who Knows?” experiences in life because there are some things, He wants us to know. There have been many times in my life I did not know what to do. 2 Chronicles 20:12 says, “We do not know what to do, but we are looking to you for help.” From that passage we find seven things we can do in preparation to fulfill our lifework.

(1)       Seek The Lord

(2)       Recall His faithfulness

(3)       Admit Your limitation

(4)       Position Yourself

(5)       Expect Answers

(6)       Watch God

(7)       Move Forward

Although we might not know where our present circumstances are leading or what the outcome will be, we can rest assured He Knows! So do not quit when things do not turn out the way you planned, or the way you prayed. “Don’t drag your feet in this!  God has chosen you to take your place before Him to serve…this is your life work; make sure you do it and do it well.”   2 Chronicles 29:3-11 (The Message)

You may be at a pivot place in your life. It may seem as though God is not listening, answering, or acting on your behalf. Rest assured He is working even when we do not see His activity. If you do not know what to do, lean in, draw close, work through the 7 things and watch expectantly for His direction.
