Boldly Facing the Enemy

Boldly Facing the Enemy

…he will bring us into this land, a land

flowing with milk and honey, and give it to us. Only don’t rebel against the LORD, and don’t be afraid of the people of the land, for we will devour them. Their protection has been removed from them,

and the LORD is with us. Don’t be afraid of them!

Numbers 14:8-9 CSB

When was the last time you were genuinely afraid as you faced an enemy? As I write this, someone dear to me is walking through a storm stirred up by adversaries. Thankfully, she is surrounded by an army of prayer warriors, lifting her and the situation before the Lord. Still, facing enemies is never easy—it’s painful and deeply unsettling.

When God called Israel to enter the Promised Land, His command to them was simple yet profound: be strong and courageous. This encouragement appears repeatedly throughout their wilderness journey and into their conquest of Canaan. Why? Because God knew the path wouldn’t be easy. Still, Moses urged them forward—face the enemy, move in obedience. God has this.

But tragically, Israel doubted. Instead of stepping into victory, they turned back to the wilderness—for forty years. All because they didn’t trust God’s promise and provision.
I often wonder: What blessings have I missed because I turned back instead of stepping forward in faith?

When we bravely confront opponents, aligned with the Lord's guidance, we tap into supernatural strength and courage. We begin to truly grasp that God has already equipped us with everything necessary for a life of godliness, according to His glorious riches (2 Peter 1:3).

Through His grace, we excel in the tasks He sets before us (2 Corinthians 9:8). He is capable of far more than we can imagine (Ephesians 3:20-21). And we find comfort in knowing we are His sheep, provided for in every way (Psalm 23:1).

My loved one will walk through this challenge not in her strength, but in the Lord’s. And He will provide all she needs—every step of the way.
