Amazing Grace
It is through faith that a righteous person has life.
Romans 1:17 NLT
Recently, I was reminded of the sweetest video of my friend on an African mission trip. She was surrounded by a group of young children while she sang, “Jesus Loves Me” to them with hand motions. The children were all singing along with her while copying her hand motions.
That visual of such a sweet moment has stuck with me.
I realized Jesus has led me on the most amazing journey, and it all started with a simple moment of faith. It almost seems too easy… all I did was I believed Jesus wanted to have a real and personal relationship with me. I accepted that this Good News was really true! It is an amazing gift that I received in return for my faith.
What Paul said here is what happened to me…
For I am not ashamed of the Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes – the Jew first and also the Gentile. This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, ‘It is through faith that a righteous person has life’ (Romans 1:16-17 NLT).
From simple faith, God made me right with Him in His sight. God did it, not me. I am declared a righteous person by God who gives me eternal life.
Today I am thankful for the most amazing life with many incredibly good things, even in the midst of suffering. I want others to know this amazing life with Jesus too.
I prayed, “Lord who do You want me to tell about You?”
Recently, I learned that the largest unreached people group is all around where I live! It is children! And their numbers grow with every birth!
As wonderful as it is to go on mission trips across the world to share the amazing grace of Jesus with children, I realized it is just as wonderful to share the truth of Jesus with the children the Lord places in my everyday ordinary life, too.
Sharing with my sweet children, grandchildren, or other children who live around me right now is all part of the Lord’s plan.
Ask the Lord to open your eyes to who He wants you to share the Good News of Jesus with! You might be surprised!
Father, I am not ashamed of the Good News of Jesus Christ. It is Your power at work saving me! I am so grateful for Your amazing grace that You have shown me and I want to share it with everyone around me. Especially the children and grandchildren You have brought into my life. Help me find simple and easy ways to share my real and personal relationship with You so that they understand. Please draw each one into a relationship with You. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
