Our Response to Truth

Our Response to Truth

The entirety of your word is truth, each of your righteous judgments endures forever.

Psalm 119:160 CSB

Perhaps you’ve read Psalm 119 and noticed, in this longest chapter in the longest book of the Bible, that it focuses on God’s truth, precepts, commands, word, instruction, statutes, decrees, judgments, and ordinances. We get the point at least 179 times! We must know His Word!

But, what do we do with that truth? This time in reading Psalm 119, I focused on what the psalmist says our response should be to God's Word. Here’s a sampling of what I found:

• Walk according to

• Be happy about

• Keep

• Think about

• Praise

• Learn

• Don’t wander from

• Treasure

• Proclaim

• Rejoice

• Meditate

• Contemplate

• Long for

• Delight in

• Understand

• Gain strength from

• Choose

• Set before me

• Cling to

• Pursue

• Take pleasure in

• Follow

• Trust

• Hope in

• Obey

• Study

• Speak of

• Be unashamed of

• Love

• Remember

• Find comfort in

• Rely on

• Learn

• Live for

• Gain insight from

• Be concerned about

• Fear

• Know

• Carry out

• Choose

Do you believe that God’s Word is completely true? As you scan this list of responses to His truth, where do you falter?

You have given us all the truth we need to know to walk in obedience as we share Your Lord! Show me where You want me to grow more secure and adhere to the entirety of Your perfect Word!
