At a Dead End? Be Still.
Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.
Psalm 37:7
On the road of life, uncertainty can feel like you have hit a dead end.
You have needed a job for over a year. You continue to go through extensive interview processes. This last interview seems promising, and then days after your interview you find out they are going in a different direction.
You feel like you have hit a dead end.
A coworker says she will volunteer with you, but then days before the event, she cancels. You frantically reach out for help, but everyone is busy.
You feel like you have hit a dead end.
After months of planning and saving, you finally take a nice vacation Once you arrive, you find out that one of your excursions has been cancelled due to weather conditions.
You feel like you have hit a dead end.
When faced with uncertainty, what is my natural response toward God? To be honest, trust is not always the first thing that comes to mind. I frantically try to fix the situation. Yet, I realize over time that there are no “dead ends” with God. He just needs me to be still, and let Him handle the situation.
God encourages us in Philippians 1:6, “that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
Did you see who is the one doing the work? Not me.
This is a good reminder not to wrestle in my circumstance but to be still and let God carry me through it.
