Trust. Serve. Wait.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
Things seemed to get worse for Kate.
She’d lost the love of her life, her job and her sense of well-being in the last six months. As if things couldn’t get worse, her two boys seemed to be in turmoil. One experienced chronic pain; the other a gender identity crisis. This was not what she wanted for either son.
A few months earlier, she had promised to help a longtime friend recover from surgery. She would need to travel a few states away for about three weeks. No, it wasn’t a good time. Yet she felt drawn to go. She wanted to go.
Even though it would be around-the-clock caregiving, the trip felt like an escape. At least, she could make a difference for someone else when she couldn’t do much for her own situation.
As you read this, Kate will be caregiving. And she’s counting on God’s strength to take care of her friend. She’s also trusting the Lord to make a way -- which seems impossible – for her sons to find a way out of their crises.
What seems out of control in your life? Who needs your help right now? Ask God to help you trust Him even in the midst of the chaos.
