Making the Most of it

Making the Most of it

Let your conversation be gracious and attractive

Colossians 4:6 NLT

His heart hurt, he was frustrated.

I asked, “What are you going to do?”

He said, “I am going to thank God anyway.”

I was surprised by his response…  It was not typical for him.

Later, Jesus brought this verse to my mind…

Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart. Pray for us too, that God will give us many opportunities to speak about his mysterious plan concerning Christ… Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone. (Colossians 4:2-3,5-6 NLT).

This thankful heart in the difficulty is the right attitude.

I realized this thankfulness in the difficulty is an opportunity…  to use in his conversations.

This step of faith might make the difference so someone asks… how could you be thankful in that moment?

Then he could say… “I couldn’t do it. Jesus helped me do it.”

But will my friend make the most of this opportunity?

Would I… Would you?

When Jesus does the unexplainable… tell someone about it!

Father, in the quiet of my heart, You speak to me and give me moments and opportunities every day to explain the unexplainable things that Jesus does to help me. Help me realize those moments and sprinkle them into my conversations so others will seek You too. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
