Faith in the Storm

Faith in the Storm

… the one who draws near to him must believe …

Hebrews 11:6 CSB

Do you like to please people?

Most of us do… it just seems right somehow.

What about pleasing God? I want to… but look at this truth…

Now without faith it is impossible to please God, since the one who draws near to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. (Hebrews 11:6 CSB).

It is impossible to please God… without faith.

My thought is… Oh. Okay, I can do that… I have faith in Jesus.

Now… add a storm of life to the situation.

I mean a really big storm… huge. The biggest you have ever experienced.

Such as… your entire business of steady income for 20 years… suddenly gone.

I had this happen.

Now… my faith is challenged.

How would you respond?

The world you knew… gone.

Consider this truth…

By faith Noah, after he was warned about what was not yet seen and motivated by godly fear, built an ark to deliver his family. By faith he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith. (Hebrews 11:7 CSB).

Noah was warned something was coming… something big.

Noah believed God.

Noah’s future was unknown… but he built the boat anyway.

Consider… what Noah went through… it was possibly one of the biggest of all storms.

The world he knew… gone.

Can you imagine Noah’s thoughts after they survived, waters receded and God, Himself… opened the door of the Ark?

And during the storm… Noah quite possibly saw God in a more real way than ever before.

That is what storms do.

This is what happened to me… in the storm… I saw Jesus in a more real way than I had ever seen Him before.

And I saw my faith.

Trust Jesus through the storm… He is showing you… your faith.

Father, in the quiet of my heart, You speak to me saying during the storms of life, I am to have faith. Noah’s faith is an example for me. The future unknown, he had faith. Thank you for helping me see my faith in you in a more real way. In Jesus’ name, amen.
