Ever Get The Blahs?

Ever Get The Blahs?

Let us not get tired of doing good, for we will reap at the

proper time if we don’t give up.

Galatians 6:9

Even though it’s spring, not long ago, gray, cold winter days prevailed. And so did my blah attitude! The first of the year kicked off differently that I’d planned with a major ice and snow storm across the country, including Tennessee.

After 3 years of a delayed 50th anniversary cruise trip was put on hold, we planned to spend our 53rd on a ship with friends in 2024. Airport cancellations were a possibility until our flight took off the morning we boarded. The week was one filled with stress.

Then, coming home to finish preparing for a speaking engagement the following weekend, and after exposure to flu that led to cough and congestion, this week was also one of stress. I wasn’t sure I’d be able to be there until almost the day before we left!

Normally optimistic, returning home, I fell into the blahs. I couldn’t even really put my finger on why I was blah. I bet you’ve had those seasons, perhaps during winter and longing for spring as I was!

This is where the Rock becomes our stronghold. Beyond weather, flight concerns and illness, our Rock holds us up. He never lets us down. Not in the death of a loved one, job loss, cancer diagnosis, or any situation that Jesus allows into our lives through His sovereign will.

He is our hope and we can hold strong, living a life of purpose and obedience even through confusion and pain. Trust 1 Corinthians 9:8, And God is able to make every grace overflow to you, so that in every way, always having everything you need, you may excel in every good work.

Feelings catch up to faith to provide every single thing we need to walk with Him in every single situation. The more we see His faithful hand, the quicker we will be to stand on the Rock.
