Let Perfect Peace Lead You
You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!
Isaiah 26:3 NLT
Have you started something new and immediately began to wonder, “Oh no! Why did I do this?”
Maybe a small project that suddenly turned into a huge responsibility. It could even be for a good reason, a godly reason.
I have learned that even serving the Lord can become overwhelming, especially if it is my idea and not the Lord’s idea.
Recently, I was reminded of the example of Moses judging the people by himself all day long in Exodus 18. He took on too much by his own good intentions. Moses’ father-in-law pointed out that he would wear himself out if he continued at this pace. He suggested Moses recruit the help of others.
Service for the Lord is not meant to cripple you. So, if it is… I am to ask myself, if God is really asking me to do that.
Before I serve, I should always ask the Lord if this is what He wants me to do and is this how He wants me to do it. And is there anything else I should know?
The Lord may want me to give others an opportunity to serve alongside me, so they receive the blessing of serving too.
And I have used this truth to lead me…You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you (Isaiah 26:3 NLT)!
This means if I have really kept my focus on the Lord, and He has opened this spiritual door of opportunity, I should sense His perfect peace.
There is a balance. Keep adjusting and let God’s perfect peace lead you.
Father, in the quiet of my heart You speak to me whispering, “Child, be still and know that I am God. Remember my teaching. You are to serve alongside Me, letting Me lead.” Lord, help me seek You and Your wisdom in all that I do. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
