Jesus Brings Peace to Chaos
…My covenant of peace will not be shaken…
Isaiah 54:10 CSB
What is rocking your world lately?
Bad news. Financial crisis. Health problems. Family strife. Political issues. The list can go on and on.
For me, these things typically rock my mental world more than my physical one. Although my physical world can have a form of shaking, my internal world–my heart and mind–can feel like it is shaking more.
The enemy uses these external triggers to create anxiety or fear.
Sound familiar?
I love the contrast in what Isaiah says…
“Though the mountains move and the hills shake, my love will not be removed from you and my covenant of peace will not be shaken,” says your compassionate Lord (Isaiah 54:10 CSB).
This hope the Lord gives is encouraging! The truth is His covenant of peace will not be shaken and His love will not be removed, no matter how much turmoil is happening around me.
And the Lord gives instruction to help me keep my mind at peace…
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7 NLT).
There it is… you will experience God’s peace.
God’s peace is the result of the covenant of peace given to you when you are saved by faith in the Prince of Peace, Jesus!
So, stop right now and pray! Give that issue rocking your world lately to Jesus and ask for His peace.
Father, in the quiet of my heart, You speak to me whispering, “Child, I love you! Bring your burdens to Me with a thankful heart, and receive My peace.” Lord, help me surrender and gratefully receive Your peace. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
