Remove the Veil
When Moses finished speaking to them, he put the veil over his face. But whenever he entered the Lord’s presence to speak with Him, he removed the veil until he came out.
Exodus 34:33-34
The enemy loves to put blinders on people so that the gospel is veiled. In 2 Corinthians 4, Paul is writing to the church in Corinth warning them not to put a veil over their hearts. The church continues to follow the ways of the old covenant, but Paul is stressing to them to remove the veil by believing in the resurrection power of Jesus.
YYou see, when Moses met with God on Mount Sinai and received the Ten Commandments, his face radiated from being in His presence. When Moses came down from the mountain and spoke to the Israelites, revealing what the Lord said,“his face was radiant, and they were afraid to come near him” (Exodus 34:30). When Moses finished speaking, he would wear a veil over his face.
Paul uses this analogy to explain how we should share the good news of Christ, not hide or veil it. However, the enemy “has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God” (2 Corinthians 4:4).
How is the veil removed? Only by having a relationship with Jesus Christ and allowing Him to be the Lord of your life. Only through this submissive act can you feel truly free because “the Lord is the Spirit and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom” (2 Corinthians 3:17).
So, has the veil of your heart been removed? If not, why not invite Jesus to be Lord of you life? Then let Him radiate through you!
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the hope we have in You. Allow Your light to shine in us, as we display Your glory as we continue to spread the good news of Your Son!
