Look Around

Take them by the hand and lead them.

Ephesians 6:1-4 MSG

Usually when I start something new, there is… training.

Typically, it is from someone who has been there before me.

And often, I am very thankful for the training.

But it can be a challenge for both the trainee… and the trainer.

Learning something new… is hard sometimes.

 Jesus is clear in Scripture…

Children, do what your parents tell you. This is only right. “Honor your father and mother” is the first commandment that has a promise attached to it, namely  “so that you will live well and have a long life.” Fathers, don’t frustrate your children with no-win scenarios. Take them by the hand and lead them in the way of the Master. (Ephesians 6:1-4 MSG).

As a Christian parent… I am to train my children in the way of the Master.

This is part of growing in Jesus.

As I grow, mature, and naturally lead others to… Jesus.

Then… I begin to see my part in God’s plan.

 I look around me.

There are children… some from my family… some from my family of faith.

I have nurtured both… I am instructed to train both in the way of Jesus.

When new… it can take time to learn to hear Jesus’ instructions by the Holy Spirit.

It helps to have someone train you… in how to hear Jesus.

Leading you… in what a relationship with Jesus is like.

I was appreciative someone trained me.

 Were you?

Look around you… Who do you see that you can take by the hand… and lead?

Father, in the quiet of my heart, You speak to me showing me Your children who need guidance in how to hear You. Lead me to the ones that You want me to help find and hear You. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
