God-Wink: The Oscar Mayer Wienermobile

The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is His faithfulness; His mercies begin afresh each morning.

Have you ever had a God-wink? An event or personal experience that signals God’s presence.

I saw several God-winks during my cancer treatment. Perhaps the most unusual was the Wienermobile. It came after surgery and before radiation.

I did a U-turn when I saw the Wienermobile. I hadn’t seen it up close since my 20s. I felt an unexplainable joy at this silly truck that took me back to a carefree time in my life.

God was so gracious to allow the Wienermobile to stay at the same spot for an entire week. My sister even drove an hour to recreate the Wienermobile picture that we had taken decades earlier — which added to my joy.

Many people might dismiss that as a coincidence. I prayed for joy daily — through tears at times. But I watched for it. And I saw it.

I challenge you to look for God’s goodness, especially during difficult times. These moments may not erase our sadness, but they can help us see God’s faithful care.

Lord, help us to see and feel your daily mercies. Help us see every good gift even during hard seasons.
