God-Wink: The Text
Lord my God, you have done many amazing things! You have made great plans for us — too many to list.
I could talk on and on about them, because there are too many to count.
God’s timing can be surprising.
For six weeks, I went for daily radiation treatments for breast cancer. Most days, I drove myself. But near the end of my treatment, my husband drove me home after one of my appointments.
My phone lit up with a text from my son, then a sophomore in college.
Today I asked a girl on a date …
Wow. He had never had a real date before. This could be big, I thought.
He did not know that I had begun praying for him to find a godly wife.
Nor did he know that I had asked God to give me joy through this cancer journey.
Of course, I couldn’t know whether this one date would lead to anything. But his text came as a reminder that God had heard my prayers — and He seemed to be working on it!
That was April 5, 2023. My son married that girl on July 11, 2026.
Back in 2023, I knew a small piece of the joy. Today, I sit with the fullness of all God was doing. And I’m overwhelmed by His goodness.
Lord, thank you for working in 1,000 different ways even when we only see a small portion.
