Historians feel Jesus taught the Sermon on the Mount in the gently sloping hillsides of the northwest corner of the Sea of Galilee. When you go there you can see small towns situated on the tops and sides of the hills. These towns are not hidden even at night you can see them.
As the winds picked up and the smell of rain got stronger – we had to hurry! Grandpa was coming behind me covering the tiny seeds. My rows were all planted. With almost a half bag of seed left, panic set in. I had to empty my bag of seed somehow. So, I began tossing the seed in the air until my bag was empty.
For a teacher whose vocation is motivated by a love of his subject there is nothing more gratifying than to know that he has inspired others to follow in his footsteps. Dedicated coaches develop great players, brilliant scientists shape the minds of those who will define the future and eloquent professors produce great poets and writers.
My husband and I are big fans of British murder mysteries. They are a kinder, gentler kind of gruesome death against a backdrop of spring green, cultured voices and a “tea moment.”
It was our regular Thursday after-school special with the youngest grand girls. When our time was over their dad pulled up in the driveway. As our nine-year old gathered up her backpack and rushed out the door to get in his car, she called back over her shoulder, “I want to learn to bake a cherry pie.”
A comment from Oswald Chambers created a fresh perspective for me on the darkness of night:
